Few bands have invigorated French pop like La Femme over the last decade, and in 2021, they're coming to make all of our lives better. Paradigmes, the much-awaited third album from the Paris-based, Biarritz band, offers a shift in how we see the world, a kaleidoscopic vortex to a different, more vibrant dimension. 

La Femme have always assimilated the sounds that surround them. Their 2013 debut album Psycho Tropical Berlin paid homage to kosmische, surf rock and cold wave; the followup - 2016's Mystère - hybridised elements of psych disco, Egyptian iconography and intoxicating flavours of 90's hip hop. It's music for the internet age that draws on vintage and eclectic good taste, where playful, sonic Dadaist collages are turned into something ebullient and remarkable, strewn with lyrics that are feisty, funny, philosophical and sometimes forlorn.

COVID Policy

In order to attend an event at the Black Cat we now require either proof of a COVID-19 vaccination, or proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR test taken within the prior 48 hours. Patrons who wish to attend an event must show either a completed COVID-19 vaccination card or proof of a negative PCR test taken within 48 hours of the event. As members of the community it is our responsibility to help minimize the spread and risk of COVID and to protect the safety of our patrons, our performers, and our staff.

Accepted forms of proof include
1. A physical vaccination card that matches the patron's photo ID.
2. A photo of a vaccination card that matches the patron's photo ID.
3. A digital record of vaccination such as MyIR Mobile or the Clear app.
4. A negative PCR test taken within the prior 48 hours that matches a patron's photo ID. The negative test may be digital or printed.

Patrons who do not have proof of vaccination may attend a show if proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR test taken within 48 hours is presented at the door.
